Presentación

Since their discovery two decades ago, MOFs have become one of today’s hottest fields of research.

They are ultra-highly porous solids made from the assembly of metal ions (zinc, copper, titanium, etc.) and organic molecules that act as super-adsorbents (up to 90% of a MOF consists of empty space), similarly to zeolites or activated carbon.

Owing to their ultra-high porosity and chemical versatility MOFs attract interest not only from academia but increasingly from industry and are already solving real-world problems. MOFs have been traditionally known for their great catalytic capacities but also have been proposed for several applications including gas storage and separation, which has great impact in hydrogen cells, carbon dioxide capture, or air purification, among others. MOFs also play a role on electronics being already part of batteries and hight sensitive sensors. They also show great potential for emerging medical technologies.

MOFs are an emerging technology which is increasingly gaining ground. In this webinar you will understand all their potential and their manufacturing and will find out how this material can solve your needs.

This webinar will also entail a brief state-of-the-art in adsorbent materials commonly used and their comparison with MOFs will be addressed.
